Perry's 1st Adventure at the Beach!

Posted by Perry's Mama on December 17, 2005

Sad Perry We finally brought Perry to the beach!

He had his sand pail, diggers and shapers. (Mama's newly invented words, my apologies.) In the first section of the expedition, Perry's main preoccupation was to split the castle that Papa was building. Prior to that, the destruction to the castle was mainly done by Mama. Honestly, I thought I was helping! hehe…

Then it was time to introduce Little Perry to The Waves. Papa brought him to the waves before Mama knew what was happening. I rushed over, in case Perry freaked out. Groundless worries, mothers have.

The Amazing Baby stands still in contemplation while the waves lap at his feet for the first time. I expected him to yell and retreat. Amazing. He was so happy with the waves that his Huggies got heavy with sea water. We stayed by the waves and picked seashell remnants (what do we expect, it's Singapore, after all) to save as souvenirs of Perry's First Outing to the Beach.

I think he likes the Beach. :) I'm so happy Perry's thrilled about having sand between his toes, and oh yes. He was happily using his shovel to hit his Papa with sand flying everywhere and then he stopped. In his usual contemplative way, he stared at the shovel for a while before deciding to take a big mouthful of it. He was so stunned, and his parents were so mean to laugh at him. I've come a long way as a mom who freaked out about cleanliness, ensuring everything was clean before they could come into contact with Little Perry. 18 months into motherhood now, I think it's all right if Perry eats a mouthful of sand. Makes him sturdier, I think!

Wow, Little Perry is definitely braver compared to Ethan. Sigh. Ethan cried the first time we brought him to the beach. The minute he stepped on the sand, he cried, 'dirty dirty'. I almost flipped, he's a boy leh, how can be so gu niang?

Ha ha, so its nice to see Little Perry so brave and loves the beach, the waves and sand so much!

Wow serious case! How old was he then? Perry still only says a few words, and only when asked to repeat after us. Miraculously, he's said "star", "bright", "nana" (Perry's version of the yellow fruit) on his own, after watching a VCD called Baby Bright, but still refuses to call me Mama… Sigh…

BTW, Peter asked if Ethan's trait is passed down from the father. Hmm… hehe! So mean ah!
